Over the past year, more than 3,000 businesses have integrated DoorDash for Work, with overall usage of the DoorDash for Work platform increasing by more than 70%.

Today, we’re excited to announce new DoorDash for Work features that ensure businesses have more flexibility and selection to support current and potential employees while keeping costs low. Expenses made easy with SAP Concur

Expense management can be a major issue for employees and employers. 89% of finance departments have problems with their spending process and around 10% of employees do not submit expense reports for reimbursement, even when they are entitled to it. We are delighted to partner with SAP Concur, the global leader in travel, expense and invoice management solutions. Now busy employees can charge for their work meals with just one click and quickly get back to the task at hand.

Catering at your fingertips

DoorDash for Work gives businesses the flexibility and choice to choose group meals to feed their employees in the office or at an in-person event. With Catering, we make it easy, convenient and profitable to feed the whole team while taking into account certain dietary restrictions and preferences. This feature supports many group sizes and functions, whether it’s family-style meals in the office, catering for meetings and conferences, or events and social hours. Delivery of food orders works just like receiving a regular order on DoorDash and Dashers who fulfill food orders have the highest quality ratings with a proven track record of delivering larger, complex orders. Restoration is currently only available in select markets.

Improve bulk orders

As more and more teams start meeting in the office on a daily or weekly basis, bulk orders are essential. Bulk orders allow teams to eat together while giving everyone the flexibility to choose what they want. We’re excited to improve group ordering by giving employees more flexibility and convenience to eat with their teams using company meal budgets. Now businesses can apply spent meal budgets to group orders, so teams can get their food all at once, maximize their budget, minimize the challenges of multiple deliveries, and eliminate expense hassles.

The survey says…

We commissioned a survey of 2,000 US employees* to discuss how companies can design a balanced and flexible work culture for employees and potential new hires, whether in person or in the office. The not-so-surprising news? Food plays a big role in an employee’s happiness.

  • About three-quarters (74%) agree that sharing meals together contributes positively to company culture.
  • It’s so important, in fact, that things like “free lunch” and “sharing[ing] meals with my colleagues during our free time. Maybe coffee, lunch, or a cupcake, something simple,” are some of the ways respondents would feel more connected to their company culture.
  • More than three in five (61%) believe eating together encourages people to talk about things other than work, while 60% say getting to know colleagues in a more casual setting.

For companies looking to hire and onboard new employees, half of respondents to this survey believe they will leave their current job within the next year. In fact, 39% of all respondents changed jobs during the pandemic and of those respondents, 84% found it more difficult to engage with their colleagues.

Offering benefits can go a long way in attracting talent and creating an attractive work environment.

  • “Perquisites” such as training opportunities (30%), free coffee or snacks at the office (28%) and mental health resources (27%) are offered to respondents.
  • When asked what their employer can do to support the creation of a culture, allow employees to raise concerns in a safe space (54%) and create a place to connect with colleagues outside Labor (50%) topped the list.
  • Additionally, the top motivators for employees wanting to return to full-time in-person work include spending more time with co-workers (45%), being offered company-provided meals (38 %) and have their company pay for their trip (42%).
