CLEVELAND, Ohio (WJW) — Some families will be exhausted this week as the Greater Cleveland Food Bank canceled Thursday’s food distribution.
The food bank has canceled the weekly event to protect staff, volunteers and customers from the cold.
Thursday’s wind chills are expected to be in the single digits.
FOX 8’s weather team predicted the extreme cold could last two weeks or more.
The food bank said in a press release that it tried to get a tent to provide shelter for people, but was unable to get one due to a labor shortage. work and equipment.
Although they won’t have the drive-in event, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank operates a food pantry at Euclid that will be open Thursday.
The hours are from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
